CBISA is a cognitive behavioral approach which teaches participants skills and strategies for avoiding substance use. We also offer care management to people with other chronic illnesses who are enrolled in Medicaid as well as prevention programs that offer effective, innovative solutions that make a significant impact on reducing new HIV infections. Criminal Justice Initiative (CJI) The Criminal Justice Initiative was established as part of the Public Safety Improvement Act. The Alliance for Positive Health’s Criminal Justice Initiative (CJI) focuses on providing resources and services to inmates currently incarcerated in designated New York State Correctional Facilities. Participants identify risky situations and learn the skills to appropriately deal with those situations as they arise. The Illicit Drug Initiative will also focus on heroin, fentanyl, and prescription drug abuse. Through the Criminal Justice Institute (CJI), officers have access to programs and services designed to hone these skills. The target offender population includes offenders with Class 5 or 6 felony offenses identified with a substance use disorder. Heroin and Fentanyl Abuse will be offered and will cover the manufacturing, importation, distribution, and use of Heroin and Fentanyl.
