Very expensive and pretty bland food. The closest Irish Pub to the Grafton with Gluten Free options is Lady Gregory's Irish Pub at 5260 N Clark St. Fast service. Excellent fish and chips as well as , according to my wife, the best veggie burger around.
In the year and a half we have done...I enjoy stopping by this pub every once in a while. I have been looking for this since I took a trip to Ireland a few years ago.

It was Feb 14 and a little crowded, but still the level of service was very sub-par even for a busy evening.Service was great. I get the fish and chips. The pub has a good overall rating, so I'm hoping maybe this was an anomaly? Wonderful selection of beer although I only order Guinness. Live music from 5 to 8 pm, the musicians kill it every time. I wouldn't call it an Irish pub because I've been to Ireland, and drank in Irish pubs. Given the choice, sit up front in the bar area.
It was cooked perfectly. The end of the game was disappointing. That being said, the Grafton has a good beer and whiskey selection, it also offers good, reasonably priced...nice neighborhood Irish Pub. What else could you want? The Grafton is a great place for food, drink, and entertainment. I will always update my reviews accordingly when a company/restaurant reaches out in such a way to better our future experiences with them. There is a fireplace in the back and there is a good amount of seating. They are hearty and tasty, perfect for Chicago winter.

This seems like a typical sort of dive/Irish bar, but the bartenders are super friendly and helpful, and are always good at recommending beers, which they have a great rotating selection of.This is one of my favorite winter bars. There were five dinky shrimps on top & they used a soup/stew bowl.
