The road is very winding, but well maintained and wider than the last time we drove over into North Carolina. Wishing now to go back and bring kids for a ride on the Polar Express. Since the River Gorge trip didn't begin for another 2 hours it gave us the opportunity to walk around Bryson City. You could tell he put a lot into his performance.

I was only given a confirmation number verbally. I emailed and left several messages asking for someone to call back. 4 of us and seating is tight. It took about 1 hour to get to Dillsboro. Our boys wore Christmas pajamas and rubber soled slippers and blue robes (just like the boy in the movie!)

What a disappointment!This is the version of our website addressed to speakers of TRICK OR TREAT Saturday, October 31 5 - 7 pm. Stop at the Newfound Gap lookout at the top of the drive for some great photos. We saw lots of beautiful views along the way, geese, turkey, and elk on the way back. The attendant of our car spoke about this. Relaxing.

Prior to making a reservation I tried multiple times to get someone on the phone in reservations to ask a question. It is sad to say but we probably won't be back. However, there was not clear directions from the train station employees when you got your arm band as to where you would go once you got off the train, and the attendants did not know anything about it. We went to the little town of Dillsboro which was really cute decorated for Christmas. But I was able to get the next class down, their Premium. Frankly, it was boring and rushed, not enjoyable at all.

We all enjoyed it thoroughly but probably won’t be back.The railroad experience is great fun. However, it was raining, and the 'smoke' was so thick at Newfound there was nothing to see but fog. Nothing over the top but the kids didn't know the difference. So 650+ people got off the train with little over an hour to shop 50 stores and eat lunch before the train left again.

With several excursions available, there is sure a trip or special event geared towards every member of the family. Well... the foliage was as GREEN as it could be. A week or two later someone returned the call. We booked the first class steam engine trip, which was climate controlled, good windows, fixed table, and included soft drinks and complete lunch (alcoholic drinks available-nobody under 21 allowed in the first class cars). board at Dillsboro to travel to Bryson City, NC . Looking forward to another train excursion in the future!We took the Tuscaseegee River Excursion to Dillsboro Friday after Thanksgiving. It wasn't very crowded on our car - enclosed with windows that lowered - and comfortable.

We did not on the way over, but planned to on the way back. I should have spent my $350 doing something else. But the main purpose for us was to see and enjoy Fall colors. So if you plan on shopping there, you might not want to do the tasting experience. Like stepping back into time. Cannot day enough good things about him. The train stalled several times, requiring "help" to come and push the train to the destination, limiting our time in Dillsboro to an hour and 15 minutes.



We could not hear any narration or instructions about the delays/stalls because of the squeakiness between the cars. They loved it.
There is no nostalgia greater than riding on train. Food was ok (hotdogs, nachos, chicken salad) but, if anyone has walking it might be a challenge to navigate up to the car with concessions. We were really looking forward to the tour, planned it almost a year ahead and bought tickets 3 months ahead. We were greeted with a friendly smiles but when the show started with the hot cocoa the TEENAGERS DID NOT show enthusiasm about what they were doing.
