The prose is flat, apart from when it departs into nonsensical technobabble – which hardly improves matters. Not only this adventure takes us in deep space, but it also forces the Doctor to face Time Lords past actions.This has to be one of the best 12th Doctor stories I've ever read. Then the story takes a turn, surprisingly for the better as the tone and mood shift in a delightfully thrilling direction. I was almost relieved when I was met with The Doctor and Clara.
