According to records, the largest tornado in the Crystal Lake area was an F4 in 1965 that caused 75 injuries and 6 deaths. A Tornado Watch means that conditions are present that could produce a tornado. The Colby subdivision is located directly behind (north) of the Crystal Lake Plaza. They were hooked up to existing electric, water, and sewer service. The siren was used to summon emergency personnel.
