If you don't mind the writing, I dare say you'll enjoy it more than I did.I was curious about what type of world Charlie's would be.
If there was a sequel I don't think I would buy it but this book was a decent read. Each class has it's own language, and lower classes are not permitted to to speak languages of the higher classes - they aren't even supposed to understand them.

If I didn't like her first novel, what were the odds I'd like the first book in a totally different genre? I liked the idea and I loved the world building. I really enjoyed this, read in a day I would go back to and the ending promises a good follow up. Nations are ruled by matrilineal queens. Great read really enjoyed it. It is a blueprint for fundamental change. =) On to the next book in the series.This was a really interesting premise for a dystopian book, and I loved it! Her only place of release is the drug-filled underground club scene, where people go to shake off the oppressive rules of the world they live in. This is an excellent book and a great read for teenagers. The Pledge (German: Das Versprechen) is a crime novella by Swiss author Friedrich Dürrenmatt, published in 1958.
