The visuals were stunning but the story being told was one of the greatest adventures, with heart and weight and fun, that had ever been put on screen. lol

Aside from the original 9 story ideas at least (those are always classics) this was just amazing. My family LOVED it, even my teen who didn't wanna watch a cartoon with us. With all of the sequels, my family couldn't wait for this original film. My kid is gonna drive me crazy though wanting to watch this all the time now! I watched it with my 9 year old son and husband. He was always supportive of me.”One day LeFauve rocked his world when she told Scanlon that “the reason you don't miss your father is because your brother was your father,” Scanlon says. Classic movies, original stories, heart and humor FOR ANY AGE from kids to grandparents. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute! I was working at Walt Disney World on the Great Movie Ride when Toy Story came out.

Monsters Inc, The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, Wall-E, Up.... the list goes on and on. They took the typical trope of the parent(s) dying but like Frozen made it more focus on siblings saving each other but in vastly different ways. It certainly went onward and past my expectations! These movies will be around for my kid's kid's kids. The music is very good too!

It was great. Definitely not our favorite Pixar film :( He remembers spending lunches with his friend Meg LeFauve, who co-wrote Pixar’s “Inside Out” and “The Good Dinosaur,” noodling on what the story of “Onward” should be.“I was actually telling her how much I didn't miss my dad because I didn't have anything to miss, (and sharing) a little bit of the guilt I felt about that," Scanlon says.
For starts, the ending was terrible and unrealistic they do not state how the dad dies AT ALL the backstory is horrible and simply unreal. ©2019 Disney/Pixar. But before all that happens – and their dad is resurrected, if just for a brief time – Ian realizes something important: His older bro has been the real parental figure he has needed the whole time.The conclusion Ian comes to in the movie “absolutely” reflects an epiphany Scanlon had about his sibling, and that aspect of the movie “was the first thing that we came up with,” says the director, whose father died when Scanlon was 1 and his brother was 3.
I was so shocked by that. For years, Pixar just kept raising the bar on themselves. It's unfortunate that this movie was released when it did and with the poor marketing.
The quest of Tom Holland and Chris Pratt's elf brothers may be fantasy in Pixar's 'Onward,' but the three-hanky finale draws on real life. But overall there was some great humor. The movie was funny, thoughtful, and so heart wrenching!
They do find the gem: It has actually been right next to Ian’s high school the whole time, and the building turns into a raging dragon when the precious rock is touched.
I think I saw it in the theater with friends 3 times in the opening weekend. There were funny parts but the ending was terrible....I had people from 6-40 watching it and there wasn't a dry eye at the end of it.....it took a half hour to calm down the younger ones .....on top of that there were no funny "outtakes" at the end to cheer anyone up!
