Aug. 12, 2020, 2:02 p.m. ET July 10, 2019 | Detroit Vineyards on Gratiot Avenue, at the old Stroh's Ice Cream building, is celebrating its grand opening on Friday, beginning with a ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. Detroit Vineyards renovated the over 12,000 sq ft historic Stroh's ice cream factory at 1000 Gratiot Avenue, with a grand opening planned for May 3.
The Mari Vineyards Grand Opening will start at 11am and end at 7pm on June 18th, 2016.

Detroit Vineyards Grand Opening! Listen at work or while you surf.Detroit Vineyards on Gratiot Avenue, at the old Stroh's Ice Cream building, is celebrating its grand opening on Friday, beginning with a ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. The company began in 2014 and has grown from making about 2,500 cases of wine two years ago to about 10,000 cases this year.
“We’re not just slapping the name of Detroit on the label," Kownacki said.
After the French settled Detroit in 1701, Cadillac established a vineyard for making high quality wine in the rich soil along the Detroit River, one of the first vineyards in America. The celebration runs until midnight.

Kownacki says it will be like any other day at Detroit Vineyards, except for food trucks outside. They are also in the process of planning and scheduling an outdoor event, featuring food trucks and live music, to bring people out to safely socialize.
