Even though our reservation was around 08:15 PM, our table was ready a bit earlier than 08:00 PM and...I took my mother here for a celebration meal.

We anticipate the cooler weather game of venison and quail, root vegetables and greens; the first springtime shad roe and the blue-green, live and kickin’ soft shell crabs arriving a few weeks later, followed by summer’s shell beans, tomatoes and okra. Service was top notch too.

Our daily-changing menu, rooted in classic French technique, features the best from each harvest. My fish wasn't that great, it tasted like it was baked in the oven with shake n bake rather than fried and it was hard and dry. At The Boot you will instantly feel at home while you casually dine in a cool, comfortable atmosphere. I LOVED it here and I will be back again. But I did have the soul food plate and the black eyed peas and cornbread was the best I've had all year!
The parking was great as well as the bar! Say they are open until 9pm. It was a yucky day outside so a bowl of chili and cornbread was my pick!

Reservations can be difficult, but it’s sister restaurant next door Chez Fon Fon, is bistro style,...I enjoyed every moment, from the warm welcome to the great starters, salads, entrees, and desserts. All 4 of Frank Stitt’s restaurants are closed on Sundays and Mondays whether it’s a holiday or not, so this year they will definitely be closed. My 6 year old son couldn't believe it. The wings were very good! The burgers are quite good, but pricey, and the mix of fried okra, sweet potatoes, and green beans are a welcome difference.
