Spent a lot of money on a disappointing meal."
I recently visited the newly renovated and renamed Americana Kitchen & Bar.
This diner-like restaurant has been renovated...A prophet is never respected in his hometown - and I suspect neither are former New Jersey Diners that want to transform themselves into fine dining establishments with the requisite upscaling of their menu and a significant propulsion in pricing. AMERICAN GRILL + BAR MENU. Then some odd years ago, the owners started going into a new direction. This is my favorite restaurant/diner!! The jam was alright, more like a squished strawberry which made it hard to spread on my croissant. A table and a booth became avail at the same time, we asked for the booth and was said no though they sat the 2 people right after us there.
I would like to preface this review by saying I attempted to send an email via the "contact us" button on their website, however that link routed to their history page, not contact information.I have been contacted by the owner and I am impressed by his professionalism and courtesy. My daughters went here for lunch today. All our dips and spreads made in house from scratch with all natural, local ingredients. As soon as I walked in, I was wowed by the new modern sleek decor. But at $5 it's very disappointing. I don't care if they carved it from a pig right out back it wasn't worth that price. "The food was Dennys. It was just fantastic.
Our menu has something for everyone from classic steak house and contemporary American to signature share plates and comfort dishes. A new Southern-style restaurant is opening in Jackson on the east part of town. The Americana Kitchen and Grille will open at 1100 Whitehall Street.
Citizens Grill is The Woodlands / Conroe / Magnolia area's newest restaurant and bar featuring Americana favorites served in a upscale yet comfortable venue.
When dining at the Americana, don't go with the expectations of a NJ diner or diner prices. I have been to a few restaurants in NJ since outdoor dining opened, and AKB is hands down my favorite. It's now basically a restaurant and they are renovating and expanding to reflect that. Came by for dinner not expecting more than a good meal, but instead experienced an amazing meal and service only received in your best restaurants. We at Americana are working to reopen and do it safely. The food here has always been more upscale than your typical diner because of their use of farm-fresh ingredients. That about sums up it up.
I'm not kidding.
This is the second time we have gone during the Covid situation. for lunch and dinner 3:30-8:30 P.M. Yes, we will offer curbside. I've been here for breakfast, lunch, happy hour and dinner.Update 2/16/17: New Happy Hour Menu. DIPS & SPREADS.
I loved the cheese blend with the crunchy, buttery bread. Explore menu, see photos and read 35 reviews: "Limited menu. Delivery & Pickup Options - 615 reviews of Americana Kitchen & Bar "EAST WINDSOR: we have always loved Americana Kitchen & Bar and are impressed with their growth and expansion over the years. The seating and service presented as more formal but the menu was on a placemat...sort of a confusing message. Not sure what or where other reviews are referencing, but not AKB. We have come back the last two years for…""The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is because of the reservation process and the inability to get out water refilled. One ordered the chicken barley soup. With your favorite sauce: BBQ, Hot BBQ, Teriyaki, Red Hot, Buffalo, Sweet & Sour, Garlic Parmesan, or Ranch 6 pieces - 5.99, 9 pieces - 7.99, 12 pieces - 9.99 Good variety of options.
So I came across this place when I decided to travel over an hour to go shoo at a Ross store. First, this place is MASSIVE but also gets packed. FRENCH ONION FUNDUE~ $10. The server and rest of the staff made you feel very welcome and were very attentive. I'll skip this place in the future.Came here for brunch with friends. We will be reopening on Thursday May 14 at 11:30 A.M. Our new temporary hours will be 11:30 A.M.-3P.M. I recently stopped by for a late brunch on Sunday and was blown away by how modern and sleek the interior looks!! There is a self serve water station.
Happy Hour food selection very mediocre now. Should've swapped out with home fries instead. Both meals were extraordinary! Owner David Hunt said he hopes to have it open by the end of the year. The menu changed up and it wasn't very "diner esque" anymore.
You should know what your going to get. I was sort of confused by the decor and vibe as it seems like a former diner going through a transition to a more upscale place yet serving comfort food. The open space plan is very modern and roomy, but the overall dining capacity seems smaller and the bar area is smack dab in the middle of the restaurant. Teague said he wants Americana to bring fresh, healthy and home-cooked meals to a part of town where there are not a lot of options. Fantastic menu with a variety of healthy and deliciousness to suit any palate!
