Mark Fisher disappeared from his home in a brilliant flash of blue light almost 2 years ago.
A bizarre fiction of power and obedience; a ludicrous tale of politics and love. Lacks the paranoia the best of these films have but does have a fun slasherlike quality to it.One of the better horror movies of the last decade! Almost Human (2013) Cover art: reviews/almost-human-poster-s.jpg. However, the female lead (in comparison to the other actors) seemed as if she wasn't sure how to act, react or even was familiar with her lines; that was a bit distracting. Mark Fisher disappeared from his home in a brilliant flash of blue light almost two years ago. The director stated the reason for this is to get the film to feature length for certain festival circuits. Almost Human. That's insulting. El trabajo de cámara es prolijisimo, el sonido esta regio, la fotografía es interesante y se las arregló para hacer que el escaso gore que hay, funcione de maravilla. His friend Seth Hampton was the last to see him alive. Shop Almost Human [Blu-ray] [2013] at Best Buy. A cash register at Jen's diner has a flat screen monitor. His friend Seth Hampton was the last to see him alive. Hubiera estado bueno menos cámara en mano y el situarla en los 80s parece más un capricho que algo justificado, pero bueno. A spirited and splattery return to the sort of schlocky drive-in sci-fi/horror trash of the 1970s and 80s, Almost Human is Invasion Of The Bodysnatchers meets Fire In The Sky with a slasher mentality and the emphasis on shocks and gore.
It's a film made by people who are fans of genre movies (this year at TIFF the director of Almost Human, Joe Begos, seemed to attend all the midnight madness screenings I did.
Cut to two years later and Seth is a nervous wreck, he has strange dreams, suffers from nosebleeds and is still looking for answers regarding his friends disappearance but when Mark suddenly returns and goes on a brutal killing spree it's fairly obvious that his friend is long gone and something else is controlling his body.Swinging from tolerable to nearly unwatchable, calling "Almost Human" a mixed bag would be a tremendous understatement. Me quedo con otras de Begos igualAfter my very negative experience watching Mind's Eye back when it came out I had basically no interest in Almost Human but Joe Begos has really won me over with his last couple movies to the point where I've actually thought to myself "wait was I the asshole for shitting on Mind's Eye? Now a string of grisly, violent murders leads Seth to believe that Mark is back, and something evil is inside of him. The film tries hard to thrill with violence and gore, but it is undercut by its lackluster narrative and limited production values. The story focuses on a man, with a striking resemblance to Joss Whedon, who disappears from his Maine town only to reappear two years later with a thirst for hacking ans slashing. The credits are 8 minutes long. Bloody hell Graham Skipper never fairs well in Joe Begos films. The pitch of freaky escalates, I was a curled up mess by the end. A distinctly retro-styled B movie about an alien abductee returning after two years absence, only to set about on a psychotic rampage of shotgun carnage and pod people lunacy. On one hand, I kinda wish writer/director/producer Jeff Begos had gone the traditional route and built up a solid resume of shorts (or at least cut a few mock-trailers) in order to draw investors and ensure his debut looked like a professional film instead of something he and some friends shot in their free time on the weekends.
